Tips to make sure your project request goes well

It’s great when things go smoothly on HomesBIS - projects and services get done and everyone goes their separate ways perfectly happily. With that in mind, here are a few tips to help make sure it all goes to plan.

1. Choose answers for our questions:

Answer the questions that appear, and choose the answers that describe your requirements. We have carefully developed these questions and answers which we have tried to be inclusive of all requirements of the project or service you are looking for. If some of the answers do not match, you can click on (Other) and fill your custom answer.

Note: Some questions require one answer only, and some accept multiple answers.

2. Write a detailed project or service description:

When you’re posting your work, make sure to write a detailed and honest description of what you need completed.

Unclear descriptions are hard for companies and services providers to understand what you need done or what to write in their price offer. This can lead to disagreements or even a dispute if you're not on the same page.

Do

  • Include as much detail as you can. Include photos, measurements, sizes, model/serial numbers etc.

  • Write down everything you want to be done.

  • If it needs to be done urgently, let them know when you need it done.

  • Be upfront about what you want - what would the completed project or service look like? Will companies or services providers understand what you need done?

Don’t

  • Don’t be dishonest about the size of the task. If the project or service is bigger than described, the company or service provider might not be able to complete it or they may ask for more payment.

 

3. Ask questions

Asking questions is a great way to make sure you’re both on the same page about the project or the service. This is a huge help in making sure that you get done what you want done. This is especially important when selecting the right company or service provider for your project or service.

Do ask

  • Open questions such as “What tools will you bring??”

  • To see provide samples of the materials.

  • If there are any extra costs (Ex: materials)

  • If there is a need to pay a down payment, especially if there is a need to purchase materials.

 

4. Set your budget:

If you specify the budget that you have allocated for the project, this will help us to deliver your request to companies and service providers who can implement it according to your budget. Also, this will save your time and effort by not receiving quotes that exceed your budget limit.

5. Select the right company or service provider for your work.

After you request a project up on HomesBIS, you might start getting a number of offers from up to 10 companies or services providers. When this happens, sometimes it can be hard to know which is the best for your project.

Do

  • Check their profile - do they have the right experience for your project?

  • Read their previous reviews.

  • Look at their project’s photos.

Don’t

  • Don’t assign a company without seeing that he has implemented a project similar to yours. You can do this by seeing their (Projects Photos) and (Before & After) section.

  • Don’t choose who you don’t feel is the best fit for your task.
